ARE YOU IN YOUR OWN WAY?

It’s not always as simple as making the decision to exercise and eat healthy and “Viola,” like magic it’s done!  How many times have you started a fitness and nutrition program or a new diet or exercise plan just to set it aside a short time later because LIFE happens and the motivation to do better and be better quickly slides to bottom of your priority list?

I am writing this article because despite the training that I have received, I am just like you in that I too face the struggles that most people do and have to practice the same tips and follow the same advice that I give to you in order to stay on track towards leading a healthy life.  Let’s face it, the average person wears multiple hats on any given day and our attention is pulled in more directions than we can count. We are parents, caregivers, hold down contracts and multiple jobs, face disappointments, battle depression or simply just lack a true sense of self value because we are too busy taking care of everything and everyone else around us. I asked a hard question, “Are You In Your Own Way” because I want you to clearly evaluate your lives, take the excuses off of the table and deal with the real issues that may be keeping you from reaching your health goals.

Are we sabotaging ourselves by placing the blame on the slew of things I mentioned instead of being accountable for not taking better care of ourselves? When does it end and where does the “buck” stop being passed?  You may be in denial even as you read this article and I can bet it sounds alot like:

  • I’m just too busy!
  • I have no energy!
  • I’m fine just the way I am!
  • I could look like that if I had the money to hire a trainer or have my meals prepared!
  • My family is my priority!
  • It just doesn’t take all of that!
  • If God wanted me to be thin he would have made me that way!
  • I’m just “Big Boned.”
  • Nutritional food is not in my budget!
  • Exercise is over rated!

 

………..and the list goes on and on and on!

Sound familiar? If you can be honest with yourselves and agree that you can relate to at minimum 3 to 5 of the above, join me by “raising your hand” because I will raise mine. This is just life guys but until you make the decision to “Get Out Of Your Own Way” on a daily basis and put into practice all of the information you’ve found on Google or use the apps and eBooks you’ve uploaded and purchased,  nothing will change.  You will never reach the point of living a truly healthy life until you have said, “Enough Is Enough” and start walking out the  advice and habits of healthy people who have either begun the journey, made the journey or are taking the journey.

I know this is hard to hear but you don’t have to go it alone.  Being unhealthy is hard and getting healthy is hard but you have a choice of which hard you will accept.   Reaching your health goals is within arm’s reach and all you have to do is to “Get Out Of Your Own Way,” make the decision to take action and follow the path to Healthy Living.
